I know this is late, but It dawn on me until now that I should write this, and I'm an Idiot for it, but H.R. Giger, the artist who designed the original Alien, passed away at age 74. He was a brilliant artist, most of his work horrifying yet beautiful. He called his art "Bio-Mechanical", they were perverse and terrifying, and inspired by none other then his Nightmares. Despite that, there was an odd beauty to them. He was also known for work on Species, and Dune, but Alien was his most popular creation. To him, there was no greater honor then to get a Tattoo of his work on your body. To permanently print his work on yourself meant you loved it. He and his work will truly be missed.
Rest in Peace Hans Rudolf Giger. The Father of Aliens, and other awe inspiring Horrors.
